Trenchermans Cover_home pageIt’s my pleasure to welcome you to the 22nd annual edition of The Trencherman’s Guide, and 166 of the top restaurants across South West England. It’s come a long way since its creation in 1992 by Kit Chapman of The Castle Hotel in Taunton and Paul Henderson of Gidleigh Park, and I’m proud to have been involved since 2005. Through its long history, the guide has continued to develop its reputation so that now there’s not a chef in the South West who isn’t delighted to be invited into the guide upon meeting the strict quality criteria. The printed edition of the guide can be picked up at Trencherman’s restaurants and selected retail outlets and you can purchase a copy here. For access to exclusive event and offers, join the club. Michael Caines

‘Since Kit Chapman and Paul Henderson hit on the startlingly simple idea of creating a local guide, The Trencherman’s Guide has been a completely reliable recommendation.’
RICK STEIN

‘See The Trencherman’s Guide as your trusty satnav: utterly accurate and bang up to date. And, of course, it has the added advantage of being mouthwateringly evocative on every page.’
ZOE WILLIAMS, DAILY TELEGRAPH
