It’s my pleasure to welcome you to the 22nd annual edition of The Trencherman’s Guide, and 166 of the top restaurants across South West England. It’s come a long way since its creation in 1992 by Kit Chapman of The Castle Hotel in Taunton and Paul Henderson of Gidleigh Park, and I’m proud to have been involved since 2005. Through its long history, the guide has continued to develop its reputation so that now there’s not a chef in the South West who isn’t delighted to be invited into the guide upon meeting the strict quality criteria.
